CM Punk parted ways with WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014 after being frustrated with the company, which led to him walking out on it. Punk had made it clear on so many occasions that he never wanted to wrestle again. That all changed as he ended up debuting in AEW. He also expressed his frustrations in fighting silly battles in WWE.

CM Punk has been in AEW for long enough now and clearly, he has found his passion for pro wrestling again. Fans were worried he’d never love the business again, but he really does again.

While speaking during the post AEW Double Or Nothing media scrum, CM Punk talked about his frustrations with WWE. He noted how he had to fight silly battles there for 10 years, among other things.

”I feel the 10 years I spent in WWE were wasted because I feel it is management, owner, booker, whoever’s job it is to get the most out of the talent – I reached the potential that I could’ve given the limitations they constantly put on me. To me, you’re always trying to make the most money and put on the best possible show you can. It felt like 10 years of fighting silly battles and standing on my own d***. I feel here, there’s no limitation put on myself or anybody, the sky’s the limit. So I could feel that I could look.”

This isn’t the first time he called his run in WWE a waste either. Now that he is the AEW World Champion, fans are excited to see how he’ll be booked in the coming months.
