WWE had a lot of plans for Money in the Bank, but it seems that is all up in the air now. The company changed locations for their big Las Vegas event and that came with a lot of alterations for the poster as well. That might not be all that’s changing for the big show.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Roman Reigns’ summer booking included Matt Riddle at Money in the Bank in Las Vegas. Randy Orton was then booked to face the Tribal Chief at SummerSlam in Nashville, and Drew McIntyre was slated to be his opponent in Cardiff for their September 3rd show.
As of this writing, Roman Reigns is not on the Money in the Bank poster. This is a big deal considering the fact that Brock Lesnar was also removed from the poster.
Dave Meltzer further noted that Reigns and Lesnar is up in the air for Money in the Bank. At this point, Reigns vs Riddle might still be happening, but there is no confirmation of that. It is also not confirmed what WWE will do with Brock Lesnar on the show or if he’s still booked.
It should be noted that Lesnar was originally booked for Money in the Bank, but now that the show is at the MGM Grand Arena instead of Allegiant Stadium that might have changed as well. WWE only brings in Lesnar for big shows.
It appears that WWE might switch a few plans around for the next few months. This situation is all that much more interesting considering the fact that Roman Reigns is also taking on a much lighter schedule.
