Stephanie McMahon recently announced that she is stepping away from WWE to focus on her family. It has since been reported that the company plans to bring in a new full-time hire to fill some of her duties. Today, WWE held a staff meeting to discuss McMahon’s leave of absence.
Fans have been speculating about the nature of McMahon’s time away from WWE. Thus far, Stephanie’s initial tweet about the issue is all we know for sure. McMahon wants to spend more time with her family.
At today’s meeting, Stephanie’s departure from the company was directly addressed. Mike Johnson of PW Insider reported that future hires would help fill her roles. Those hires won’t be immediate, and it could take a couple of weeks.
“In regard to Stephanie McMahon, it was stated that she “needed time” after everything her family had been through over the last year (obviously, the Paul Levesque health issues) and that there would be a few future hires to help fill her roles but those won’t be happening for a few weeks.”
There is still no timeframe for the length of Stephanie McMahon’s absence from WWE. Given that the company is hiring people to fill her duties on a full-time basis, it could be a long time. It is unknown how her replacements will affect the day-to-day operations of the brand.
Time will tell what comes next for Stephanie McMahon. WWE obviously had no issues giving her the time that she needs. Hopefully things go well, and she is able to get back to work when she is ready.
