Mia Yim had a lot of potential in WWE, as she had a memorable run in NXT. However, luck was clearly not in her favor as her momentum was lost after she was called up to the main roster. In fact, she felt like a joke after WWE released her.

Mia Yim was released by WWE on November 4 of last year after being drafted to Monday Night RAW. Afterwards, she spent some time in the independent circuit, simply getting back in the groove.

While speaking with the Wrestling Observer, Mia Yim talked about her state of mind after her WWE release. Yim stated that she felt like a joke after her WWE release.

“A lot was going on in my mind… I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to in my career, everything that I set a goal for myself I’ve done it all. So, do I even want to wrestle anymore? Just with the toxicity of social media and with what I did the last time like I was a joke, I was a joke, so it was like do I even bother? So I took a couple months off to do things in my real life, but also to figure out if this is what I wanted to continue to do. It was a lot.”

Mia made her triumphant return to IMPACT Wrestling during their Under Siege special on Saturday, May 7th. Since then she has been competing in the show. She also has a short contract with the company, so we’ll have to see whether she sticks with the company in the long run or not.
