Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair went to battle over the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the WWE WrestleMania Backlash premium live event. Ronda won the title after forcing Charlotte to submit. Rousey recalled that she made a pitch for the bout that ultimately went unused.
The build to the match between Charlotte and Ronda heavily featured Drew Gulak. Both women took turns beating up the WWE superstar. Flair put him in the Figure 8, while Ronda hooked him in an armbar.
On her latest Facebook live stream, Ronda Rousey talked about the match. Ronda said she made a pitch to involve Gulak in the match itself. It didn’t happen, but it was an interesting idea.
“It’s funny, I pitched him (Drew Gulak) getting involved, getting thwacked… I pitched him getting involved for the ‘I Quit’ match (at WrestleMania Backlash). Like running into him and thwacking (him).”
WWE is still considering who the next opponent for Ronda Rousey’s title will be. It was originally planned to be Sasha Banks. That was scrapped after Sasha got suspended for walking out on last Monday’s episode of Raw.
The WWE Universe will have to wait and see who the next opponent for Ronda Rousey will be. Ronda’s idea with Drew Gulak didn’t work out in the end. Perhaps she has some further pitches about which WWE superstar should be next in line for a title shot.
