Roman Reigns is working a much lighter schedule these days. That does not mean that he won’t be wrestling any time soon. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is slated for several bouts and appearances throughout the summer.
The next several opponents for Roman are already lined up. Nothing is completely finalized, so things may change. His next three matches are expected to take place at Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, and Clash at the Castle.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer outlined the plans for Roman’s big Summer. All three of his planned bouts will take place at huge stadium events. The opponents are no surprise, but they should still all have a big fight feel.
“Right now the talk is, and none of this is close to etched in stone, that Reigns wrestles Riddle on 7/2, Orton on 7/30 and McIntyre on 9/3. The first summer TV Reigns was announced for was 7/25 in Madison Square Garden, which is the go-home Raw for SummerSlam. Reigns will be appearing on TV’s to build those three matches and has also been announced for the 7/22 Smackdown in Boston and 8/19 Smackdown in Montreal.”
Many WWE fans were concerned that Roman Reigns might completely disappear from television. That is not the case. Reigns will be there to build for his matches at these upcoming major premium live events.
As always, things in WWE can change quickly. For now, the plan is for Roman to compete in at least three matches. He may not be around as much as he used to, but WWE is still The Big Dog’s yard.
