Andre the Giant was one of the biggest forces of nature ever to exist in popular culture. Andre was known around the world for his incredible size, legendary charisma, and even for his inhuman ability to consume alcohol. Andre passed away long ago, but today, his old boss took a moment to remember him.
Andre would have been 76-years-old today. Vince McMahon took a moment to remember his old friend on Twitter. McMahon called Andre The Giant once-in-a-lifetime.
“A once-in-a-lifetime athlete and an extraordinary friend. Here’s to the incomparable Andre the Giant on what would have been his 76th birthday.”
Vince McMahon made Andre the Giant one of his top heels during the wrestling boom era of the 1980s. His bout with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 3 is still remembered as one of the most historic moments in WWE history. Andre was also famous for his role in the cult classic, “The Princess Bride.”
Andre’s legend may stand even taller than his enormous stature. He was famous to even those who never watched professional wrestling. There may never be another human being quite like Andre the Giant.
Vince McMahon considered Andre as far more than just another employee. The pair were great friends and trusted each other immensely. Andre the Giant truly was a once-in-a-lifetime human being.
