Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out during WWE RAW this week and that led to a lot of attention. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions laid their belts down and walked out the door, and it didn’t take WWE very long at all to address the situation.
Ringside News exclusively reported that there is a belief that Banks manipulated Naomi into leaving. The Glow is “well liked” backstage, but Banks has now alienated everyone.
WWE sent out a public response to Banks and Naomi walking out. Their public address was pretty scathing as it shaded their Women’s Tag Team Champions a bit with the way they told the story.
“They claimed they weren’t respected enough as tag team champions. And even though they had eight hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents – even though they’d had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence.”
The wording in that public release seemed deliberate, because it was. Fightful Select reports that there is a belief backstage that WWE sent out that public address to cause dissention within the roster and “pit” talent against each other.
One person close to the situation believed that the statement WWE put out during the show was a way to pit those talent against each other, but also believed that all of those involved would be quick to reach out to one another to clear up any misconceptions.
The Sasha Banks and Naomi situation is playing out in real time. We will continue covering this story here at Ringside News and will provide all the updates as they are made available.
