Tony Khan continues to take steps towards the relaunch of Ring of Honor. Khan announced his purchase of the promotion in early March. Since then, the trademarks have been transferred and the deal was officially closed in early May.

A new trademark application filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office on May 12, 2022, reveals a potential new logo for Ring of Honor. When the trademarks to ROH were initially transferred, a mock-up logo was also submitted. The new logo concept looks much closer to the original used when ROH was just starting.

The trademark was filed under “ROH Acquisition Co., LLC,” which is the corporation Khan formed to handle the transfer. The language in the filing is standard for a pro wrestling trademark. The most interesting part is the newly-submitted logo.

“Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of television shows and multimedia entertainment content featuring wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing series featuring wrestling provided through a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, providing ongoing webisodes featuring wrestling via a global computer network; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network”

The new logo features the words “Ring of Honor” over a stylized block “ROH” with a drop shadow. The resemblance to the original ROH insignia is obvious to anyone who has ever seen it. Tony Khan appears to be paying homage to the promotion’s incredible history.

There still has not been any announcement on a television deal for Ring of Honor. Tony Khan has been keeping the company’s legacy alive with several title matches on AEW television. Khan has been working hard to find a home for ROH as soon as possible. You can compare the new ROH design to the classic logo below.
