Sasha Banks and Naomi made big news when they walked out in the middle of WWE Raw after being advertised for the main event. The Women’s Tag Team Champions were scheduled to compete in a six-pack challenge for a shot at Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship. There was an incident backstage that led Banks and Naomi to drop their belts on John Laurinaitis’ desk and exit the arena without performing.

Naomi was originally booked to win the title shot. For some reason, Sasha and Naomi didn’t agree with the creative behind the segment. It was reported that this led to their walkout.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that there may be more to the story. Dave reported that there could be some sort of contractual issue. It doesn’t just affect Sasha Banks, as Naomi seems to be involved as well.

“Naomi was going to win the match and challenge Bianca Belair for the championship on the pay-per-view. So, it wasn’t about them getting buried in the match or anything like that, but there was something that happened and it may have to do with a contract situation with one or both of them. But, it was both of them. I think that some of it was like Sasha was the one and Naomi left with her, but from what I was told, it was both of them. It wasn’t like one followed the leader or anything like that.”

“…So yeah, some issues with the contract. I think that more will probably be coming out as to the ‘why?’ and what they were unhappy about. It wasn’t something that just happened tonight. Some of it was building up and things like that.”

There is certainly more to come regarding the controversy over Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on Monday Night Raw. The company released a statement on the matter, but that is only one side of the story. Stay tuned to Ringside News for the latest on Sasha and Naomi’s situation with WWE.
