Kevin Owens & Triple H Both Assumed They Would Have A Match Together

Kevin Owens honed his craft in various promotions such as ROH and others before going to WWE. He took little time to make an impact in NXT and then the main roster, making it clear he will be a massive star. Owens also revealed that he and Triple H assumed they’d have a match together somewhere down the line.

Triple H previously announced his retirement from in-ring competition after having a cardiac issue which needed surgery. Triple H was instrumental in Kevin Owens becoming the WWE Universal Champion back in 2016 and many other things for that matter.

While speaking with TalkSPORT, Kevin Owens talked about Triple H’s retirement from in-ring competition. Owens revealed that he and Triple H assumed they would have a match together eventually.

“I think I echo what everyone has said; it’s very unfortunate in the way he [Triple H] didn’t get to retire in the ring, but he made the right decision for himself and his family. So that’s the right decision, it’s a good decision. Selfishly, I wish I would’ve had the chance to wrestle him and he and I talked about that before. I think we both assumed that eventually, it was going to happen. It won’t be able to happen but in the grand scheme of things, who cares, ya know?”

Kevin Owens also recently stated that a lot of WWE Superstars wouldn’t even be in the company if not for Triple H. Owens also owes a lot of his career to Triple H. Triple H’s contributions to the industry will never be forgotten and that is what matters in the end.
