Nathan Frazer made an electric debut in his first NXT match by defeating Grayson Waller. During a backstage promo this week, Nathan had a confrontation with Xyon Quinn. Wes Lee, who is currently without a tag team partner, came to stand up for Frazer.
Lee’s MSK tag team partner was recently fired amid several controversies. Wes Lee appeared in some vignettes where he was looking to find himself. As a tag team specialist, a new partner may be on the way in Nathan Frazer.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the potential partnership. If Nathan Frazer and Wes Lee form the new MSK, it would help both wrestlers. Given the buildup on this week’s episode of NXT 2.0, that appears to be the plan.
“They’ll be a good team, yeah, if they put them together. And they may. And it actually makes sense to do so, because it would give Frazer a good shot. In that kind of a role, in a tag team, the size thing wouldn’t work much against them.”
A new team with Nathan Frazer and Wes Lee would allow both competitors to shine. WWE prefers larger wrestlers, but for a tag team, the combination could be perfect. The setup is already there, NXT creative just needs to pull the trigger.
Time will tell if WWE decides to team up Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer going forward. For now, there is at least a temporary alliance. With Nash Carter out of the picture, it would make a great deal of sense to pair Lee with Frazer.
