AEW was planning big things for Leyla Hirsch. The Russian star, unfortunately, got hurt at a taping of AEW Dark: Elevation back in early April. Hirsch has been out ever since, although the nature and severity of the injury were unknown.

Leyla Hirsch has been out of action for over a month now. That led many fans to believe she had a pretty serious injury. The belief inside AEW is that is, indeed, the case.

In a PW Insider Q&A, Mike Johnson was asked about Leyla Hirsch’s status. Johnson pointed out that while it is not confirmed, AEW wrestlers believe she tore her ACL and/or her MCL. That would require surgery and a significant recovery time.

“No one has confirmed this officially to me, but the belief among talents is that she tore her ACL and/or MCL, which if that is the case, likely means she’s going to need or had surgery and she’ll be out rehabbing.  If we confirm 100%, we’ll update.”

Legit Leyla was injured when she attempted a somersault and landed awkwardly. The referee stopped the match and Hirsch was then taken to the back. The scary moment ended any momentum that Leyla had fought so hard to build up.

Nothing is confirmed, but it sounds like Leyla Hirsch will be out for a long time. There is no word on whether she has had surgery already. Hopefully, her recovery is as quick as possible so Leyla can get back into the squared circle.
