Kevin Owens built up a feud with WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin earlier this year. It finally culminated in a match at WrestleMania 38 Night One. Owens also didn’t know what to expect during his face-off with Steve Austin.

Owens and Austin squared off against each other in a No Holds Barred match. Ultimately, The Texas Rattlesnake won the match, which ended up getting a ton of props from fans and pro wrestlers alike. This is because it was much better than expected as many fans believed it was going to be a horrible match.

While speaking on the Tim Donnelly Show, Kevin Owens recalled the face-off he had with Steve Austin prior to their match during WrestleMania 38. Owens admitted he did not know what to expect.

“I really didn’t know what to expect. That’s the funny part. I knew he and I were going to be in the same ring, I knew we were going to talk some trash, obviously, and I had a pretty good feeling it was going to breakdown into a fight at some point, but I had no idea the scope of the fight. Everybody loved it so much, everybody watching it. More importantly, I speak for myself, but I think I can speak for him as well, the two people in the ring doing it had as much fun as everybody watching.”

Jim Ross also called the WrestleMania 38 match between the two a masterpiece. Owens also said a few swear words to Vince McMahon when he found out about the match, but it was profanity in jubilation. Owens main evented WrestleMania with his childhood hero and for him, that was truly a moment of a lifetime.
