AEW delighted many fans and caused a firestorm of controversy among others with their Blood & Guts match. Last year’s bout between The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle was a bloody, violent nod to the WarGames matches of yesteryear. AEW has plans to do another version of the match sometime soon.
There are a ton of factions in AEW who are currently involved in blood feuds. One of the most heated of those involves the Jericho Appreciation Society and Eddie Kingston. On this week’s Dynamite, Kingston, Ortiz, and Santana joined forces with the Blackpool Combat Club to help set up what could be a series of huge matches.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said the showdown between the two factions will build towards some type of multi-person match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. From there, Blood & Guts is the logical conclusion.
“It does look like that Jericho and Kingston will not be a single. It will probably be the entire Jericho Appreciation Society against Danielson, Moxley, Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz. That’s what it looks like.
I could see that building to a Blood and Guts match. They’re going to do a Blood and Guts match soon. I didn’t know who it would be, but these are two five-man teams, so it’s possible that may be the one.”
The last Blood & Guts match was a very violent and controversial battle. Time will tell if Tony Khan decides to step it up even further. It does appear that these two groups are on a collision course for the maniacal cage.
