Charlotte Flair suffered a storyline injury last night when she dropped the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey. Ronda ‘fractured’ Flair’s radius when she made her submit in their ‘I Quit’ match at WrestleMania Backlash. Shortly after, news broke that the former champ would be taking a hiatus from WWE.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the reason for the storyline injury. The reason Charlotte Flair was hurt is so she can be written off TV. Flair will be taking time off to marry her fiance, Andrade El Idolo.
The time and date of the wedding are not publicly known. The nuptials should be coming soon, and the two will have plenty of time to enjoy their honeymoon. Once that wraps up, Charlotte Flair will be ready to return to WWE television.
Andrade and Charlotte became engaged in early 2020. It was reported in April that the two were planning to get married sometime this year. Charlotte said that they would be getting married this Summer in Mexico and that she already had her dress.
Charlotte Flair has frequently shared videos of her intense workouts. Typically, Andrade is heard in the background encouraging her. Despite working for different promotions, their relationship has been strong.
The kayfabe injury will buy Charlotte Flair plenty of time to enjoy the wedding and the start of her married life. She will surely be right back in the championship picture upon her return. For now, Charlotte and Andrade can focus on their big day.
