Moose debuted in the wrestling scene with ROH, but he really made a name for himself in Impact Wrestling. Although he decided to stay with the former TNA, WWE had a huge interest in bringing him to the company.

Moose initially signed with TNA now known as Impact Wrestling in 2016 for a two-year exclusive deal. When his contract expired, WWE officials reached out to him. According to Fightful Select, he had decided to leave for WWE until Vice President of Impact Scott D’Amore approached him with a final offer to re-sign with the company.

The outlet noted the new contract which got him to stay with IMPACT was a major improvement on his old deal. However, it required a quick response and Moose took it. The offer reportedly came when he was having talks with WWE, that included a pitch of him directly going to the company’s main roster.

It was also noted, Canyon Ceman was the one who reached out to Moose. Ceman was Senior Director of Talent Development of WWE at the time. However, he was released last year which ended his nine-year tenure with the company. That being said, WWE confirmed that they would have been very particular about not contract tampering.
