Nikki ASH & Doudrop Set Up New Tag Team On WWE Raw

Nikki A.S.H. has been floundering on the WWE roster as a superhero in training for almost a year. Nikki originally portrayed the very serious Nikki Cross character and even became the Raw Women’s Champion. She was involved in the crazy antics surrounding the 24/7 Championship on last night’s Raw.

Nikki pinned Dana Brooke to win the 24/7 title on Raw. Later in the show, Reggie was able to get Dana a rematch, which Brooke won to regain the championship. Nikki was then shown in the back acting depressed when Doudrop stepped in.

Nikki A.S.H. was sitting in the locker room feeling depressed about losing the 24/7 Championship. Doudrop showed up and asked if Nikki was done messing around and was ready to get serious. It appears the two are getting ready to form an alliance. Dave Meltzer quipped about the storyline on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

“I don’t know as far as the name goes, but it looks like Doudrop maybe and Nikki will be a tag team, so that will get them both on television. They didn’t have Carmella and Zelina at all. Are they still a team?”

The WWE Women’s Tag Team division could use a shot in the arm. Despite their less-than-serious gimmicks throughout the last year, Nikki and Doudrop are both very talented. This could be a team that eventually contends for the titles.

We will have to wait and see what’s next for Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop. A repackaging could do both of them some good. The entire women’s tag division would benefit from some new contenders, as well.
