Max Caster has been a fan favorite in AEW since The Acclaimed arrived on the scene. Caster’s pre-match raps have been both controversial and hilarious. Now, Platinum Max appears to be preparing for the next evolution of his character.

A filing with the United States Patent & Trademark Office reveals that Caster applied for a trademark on a new nickname on April 28, 2022. Caster is seeking protection for the moniker “The Ace of America.” With the AEW/New Japan Forbidden Door PPV just over a month away, it’s an interesting choice.

In Japanese wrestling, the “Ace” is considered the star of a company. This new filing may indicate that Max intends to take his heel persona to the international stage. The full description of the mark is standard and was filed by “Gimmick Attorney” Michael Dockins.

“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes”

Max Caster was suspended from AEW last year after an insensitive lyric in one of his raps about US Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. The headlines he grabbed only served to further his popularity. Tony Khan has said that he would have to personally approve Caster’s verses going forward.

We will have to wait and see if Max Caster has something planned for Forbidden Door. The Acclaimed has been a hot act for Tony Khan’s company. They might be making some character tweaks leading up to that huge event.
