AEW has certainly come a long way since its inception back in 2019. The company has developed in numerous ways and still has a lot of aspects it can improve. Booker T also doubts fans will care about AEW’s partnership with NJPW.

NJPW and AEW started a working relationship last year, which certainly made fans happy. Their relationship improved to the point that they will be working together for the AEW NJPW crossover show called ‘Forbidden Door.’

While speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about the “Forbidden Door” show. Booker T stated that he does not think fans will care about AEW and NJPW’s partnership.

“I do not think the majority of people here in the United States are clicking to go find Japanese wrestling. I just don’t believe that.

They’re going to love it, I get that. The AEW fanbase, they’re going to love it. But what I am saying is, outside of the AEW fanbase, there aren’t a whole lot of people are going to look at this like it’s a forbidden door because don’t too many people know about it but the AEW fanbase.”

It remains to be seen how successful the upcoming AEW x NJPW crossover event will be received by fans in the end.
