Leon Ruff Set For AEW Debut

Leon Ruff was released from his WWE NXT contract in August of last year. Since then, he has wrestled for several other promotions and now AEW seems to have locked him down, though only for a taping.

The former NXT North American Champion made his AEW debut during Sunday’s AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

During his time with WWE Ruff was one-time NXT North American Champion. He was signed by the company just a year prior to his release in 2021. Fortunately for him, he is doing well in the indie scene.

Ruff’s NXT release was unexpected at the time but fortunately for him, things ended up working for him. He has wrestled for GCW as well as TERMINUS and now AEW Dark. That being said his next course of action remains uncertain. We will have to see if Tony Khan signs him or not, but of course all that depends on his performance.
