Matt Hardy has a deep understanding of the world of professional wrestling. Due to his vast experience, Hardy’s opinion when it comes to the business is usually taken seriously. He also shot down a comparison between the Forbidden Door and WWE InVasion.

Last week it was announced that AEW is teaming up with NJPW to present a pay-per-view event called “Forbidden Door.” The event will be taking place on Sunday, June 26th at the United Center in Chicago.

While speaking on his podcast The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy shot down comparisons between AEW’s upcoming ‘Forbidden Door’ event and the WWE InVasion event in 2001.

“You got back when WCW invaded WWE but everyone knows that WWE had bought them, I mean, it could have been a dream invasion if it had been booked correctly or a better way. But this is like two separate entities that are actually working together, that are in business together, and they are going to have this amazing show, and it will defintitely have an amazing card.”

We will have to wait and see how successful the upcoming AEW x NJPW crossover event will be received by fans in the end.
