Control Your Narrative has been nothing else if not controversial. The promotion has been accused of being everything from a gateway to conspiracy theories to just plain bad wrestling. Braun Strowman is of the mindset that no publicity is bad publicity.

Strowman, who now goes by his real name, Adam Scherr, is a central figure in CYN. Along with EC3 and a cast of former WWE stars and independent talent, the promotion has attempted to market itself to those who are tired of traditional flashy sports entertainment. The gritty shows, bizarre rules, and not-too-subtle political messages have been met with a mixed reaction at best.

Braun Strowman recently spoke to Mike Jones on DC101 about the growth of Control Your Narrative. He said the company is growing every day. CYN’s YouTube channel currently has almost 19,000 subscribers. Braun says even the negative comments are helping the promotion to gain a following.

“Every day it grows and grows and grows. We’ve only had two shows so far. We’ve done two live shows and two of our televised episodes that were on YouTube, now on Pro Wrestling TV as ‘The Narrative One’ and then ‘The Narrative Two’ which is the one that features me in my first post-WWE match against EC3.

Love us, hate us, everybody’s talking about us. At the end of the day, that’s what you want. There’s so much competition out there, in the wrestling industry as a whole. If you really think about it, with all of the different federations, independently big, sponsored and this and that, there’s something wrestling involved on live television almost every day of the week. There’s 40 million streaming services so it’s finding your niche and finding a place to fit in there.”

Braun Strowman is a former champion in WWE. Once a critic of independent wrestlers during the COVID-19 pandemic, he now finds himself in that very position. Control Your Narrative gets a lot of eyes on the product these days, but a lot of it is negative. Braun Strowman believes that’s a good thing.
