Hit Row made their way to the WWE main roster last year on Friday Night Smackdown as part of the WWE Draft. They had a memorable run in NXT, even if it was not a long one. However, they never got the opportunity to do much on the main roster.

In the end, all members of Hit Row were released last year as well and this simply disappointed fans. Many fans believed Hit Row had a bright future before their release.

While speaking with WhatCulture Wrestling, Swerve Strickland talked about Hit Row getting released by WWE last year. He said that it was due to a paradigm shift in what WWE wanted.

“It was natural. We literally were friends, we went shopping together and hung out, all four of us, and spent hours just joking, laughing, writing stuff. It got to a point where they would just come up to us with a microphone in front of the SmackDown thing, and say, ‘you’ve got a minute to talk about this.’”

“AJ would come over here, Briana would come over here, Tahooty would come over here. It was just like all off the top of our heads, just flowing. It was the paradigm shift of where the company was going. Now they want young talent, 20-25 years old, we don’t fit that.”

Hit Row, now known as the HitMakerZ, also reunited at the MCW Pro Wrestling Spring Fever show on March 19 in Parkville, Maryland. We’ll have to see if they ever return to WWE.
