Roman Reigns’ dominance as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has been one of the constants in WWE for the past couple of years. Reigns has defeated every single opponent who stood before him as well. He is also expected to start an angle very soon for WrestleMania Backlash and there are only a few options left.
Drew McIntyre has faced off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world has to offer. This also includes Reigns. The two squared off against each other at Survivor Series 2020. It took Reigns a lot of outside interference and several finishers to put McIntyre down for the win.
As previously reported, Roman Reigns is booked for the main event of WrestleMania Backlash next month. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE will be taping two weeks of Friday Night Smackdown this week.
The company will shoot an angle for Reigns’ opponent for WrestleMania Backlash. The opponent is very likely to be Drew McIntyre as well.
”Roman Reigns will headline and since they are taping two weeks of Smackdown on 4/22 in Albany, NY, they are going to almost have to shoot the angle for his opponent on the show.
Drew McIntyre, who has been facing Reigns at the house shows, doesn’t have a program and would be the betting line favorite except that Reigns vs. McIntyre makes more sense for 9/3 in Cardiff, Wales.”
We will have to wait and see whether Roman Reigns will end up feuding with Drew McIntyre for his titles or not. This is certainly something fans have been waiting for a long time to see as well.
