Hit Row member Top Dolla made the news frequently thanks to his numerous diss tracks and also his beef with the Young Bucks. He certainly had a lot of potential after being called up to the main roster. WWE also rejected a pitched name by him for an interesting reason.
Hit Row was called up to the WWE main roster on Friday Night Smackdown back in 2021. They had a good run on NXT but weren’t able to do much on the main roster. This is largely due to them getting released by the company last year.
While speaking on UnSKripted, Top Dolla revealed that he was pitched as Big Dolla in WWE. However, the name was changed after WWE officials realized they didn’t want a similar name to Big E.
“True story, completely on accident. So, they pitched the name Big Dollar, and I hated it. I’m sorry, I’m sorry. They pitched the name Big Dollar with an R and brother, no hard Rs. I told them, nix that, how about Big Dolla, and they were like, ‘Well, we already got Big E, and at the back of my mind, I was like, well, you had Big Show and Big E when you had Big Cass, but whatever, you know what I’m saying? They were like, ‘We don’t want any more ‘Bigs.” Alright, Big E, respect, much respect to that brother, you know what I’m saying? I can understand why they wouldn’t want it.”
Top Dolla also previously made it clear he doesn’t rule out returning to WWE in the future. We will have to wait and see when he will be returning to the company.
