Theory is primed to be a top star on WWE TV and there’s no denying that. The young wrestler was handpicked by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to wrestle Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38. Theory lost the Mania match but got a title shot tonight on RAW.

The 24-year-old RAW superstar took on United States Champion Finn Bálor for the title. Theory had asked Vince to grant him a title match against Bálor and he got what he wanted. Also, he made the most out of the opportunity and beat the U.S. champion in the main event of RAW.

In the end, Theory won the match and received a hero’s celebration from the RAW heels. They even lifted him up before Vince McMahon came out for a championship selfie.

WWE putting the U.S. Title on Theory speaks volumes about the company’s faith in him. According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly, Vince sees Theory as a John Cena-tier star. WWE have yet to create a star to reach Cena’s level of popularity.

Prior to signing with WWE, Theory wrestled for several promotions. Before debuting on the red brand he wrestled on NXT. It is evident that he has become a new favorite of McMahon, We’ll have to wait to see what’s more in store for the new U.S. champion.
