WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has accomplished everything a pro wrestler would ever want to accomplish in their career. The Wrestling Machine didn’t take long to become a huge star in WWE and there are many good reasons for that. Ric Flair also warned him against joining WCW.

Angle had arguably the best rookie year in the company and solidified himself as a true main event Superstar. Angle made his WWE debut back in at Survivor Series 1999 where he defeated Shawn Stasiak as a heel.

While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle talked about being a free agent after his 1996 Olympics win. He was approached by both WCW and WWE. Angle recalled how Ric Flair warned him against joining WCW.

‘Yeah, you know what? I met Ric Flair before I started in the business. I met him in his gym in North Carolina, and I asked him, and I said, ‘Ric, which company should I sign with?’ Because both companies were interested WWE – it was WWF at the time – and WCW. And Ric immediately said, ‘Go with Vince McMahon; he’ll take care of you. Do not go to WCW’ because he knew they would probably bury me in WCW. Vince McMahon would take care of me.”

Angle also turned down offers from WWE and AEW recently. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for the legendary pro wrestler.
