Raquel Rodriguez’s Start On WWE SmackDown Is Going According To Plan

WWE usually brings a couple NXT Superstars up to the main roster after WrestleMania. Fans were surprised to see Raquel Gonzalez appear on the blue brand under a different name. Now the big question remains about what WWE is going to do with her.

Raquel Rodriguez has appeared on SmackDown for the past two weeks in backstage roles. She had bit parts, but notable interactions along the way. Some have theorized that putting Raquel on television in this fashion was an indication that WWE has no solid plan for her.

Ringside News asked around about this and we were told that the notion WWE has no idea what they’re doing with the former NXT Women’s Champion is, “not correct.” A tenured member of the creative team confirmed to us that, “this is WWE’s way of introducing her to the SmackDown audience.”

Raquel Rodriguez is one of the latest names that was changed because of Vince McMahon’s new decree against talent using their real names. She is still being introduced into the fold on the blue brand and that will take time. All is going according to plan at this stage in the game.
