Adam Cole is certainly one of the most skilled in-ring competitors in the pro wrestling world right now. After having a tremendous career in NXT where he became the top star for a long time, he became All Elite last year. He also can’t wait to face off against CM Punk.
CM Punk has been one of the highlights of AEW after he debuted in the promotion last year. He has squared off against numerous top stars and taken part in solid feuds, especially against the likes of MJF.
While speaking to Fightful, Adam Cole talked about how much CM Punk influenced his professional wrestling career. Cole also made it clear he can’t wait to duke it out with The Second City Saint in a true dream match.
“It hasn’t happened yet, but CM Punk is my huge dream opponent. Cole said. “Because again, I’ve made it very clear that for me personally, he was one of the most impactful professional wrestlers as far as inspiration goes. I remember seeing him in Ring of Honor and again watching his promos and going, I really, really want to focus on getting good on the microphone because of listening to him talk, and then I thought, okay, he retired, it’s just it’s never gonna happen. Now the fact that it’s a possibility, I mean, I can’t get it out of my head. I know that someday it just it has to happen.
I hope so. I really really hope so [On main eventing pay-per-view with CM Punk]
We will have to wait and see when Cole and Punk will duke it out in the company as fans would love to see the two share the ring together.
