The main event of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Samoa Joe challenge Minoru Suzuki for the ROH TV Championship. In the end, Samoa Joe defeated Suzuki for the title as well.

Following the conclusion of the match, former basketball player Satnam Singh made his debut and attacked Samoa Joe. He appeared alongside Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Satnam Singh’s debut was “designed to build the AEW brand in India, and has a lot to do with the WarnerMedia/Discovery merger.”

This is because AEW shows airs on the Discovery-owned channel Eurosport India. It was further reported that as part of the first week after the Discovery merger, Tony Khan wanted to start an angle that would resonate with the Indian market.

The report noted that both Singh and Sonjay Dutt “will be used to promote AEW on Eurosport India.” It remains to be seen whether they will be able to build a brand in India or not.
