Ever since CM Punk made his debut a few months ago at AEW Rampage: The First Dance, he has worked hard to elevate younger talents. For the most part, that is exactly what he ended up doing. Tony Khan also commented on CM Punk’s feud with MJF.
The Second City Saint had been feuding with MJF for the past few months. They went on a back and forth war of words every week as well. It culminated in a bloody Dog Collar match at AEW Revolution on March 6th.
CM Punk would end up winning the match after Wardlow betrayed MJF. While speaking on the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, AEW President Tony Khan stated that he believes CM Punk and MJF’s feud was one of the best parts of his life.
“He’s such a great wrestler, he’s such a great professional. And we were talking about all the great stuff that CM Punk and MJF did in building up to their Dog Collar Match at Revolution and telling this story. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever been a part of in my life.”
MJF is currently engaged in a feud with Wardlow but made it clear he is not done with CM Punk just yet. It remains to be seen when MJF and Punk cross paths once again.
