The partnership between AEW and ROH has already seen the entry of many former Ring of Honor stars into All Elite Wrestling’s fold. The latest word is that two former ROH talents have joined Tony Khan’s promotion in Jacksonville.
Fightful Select reports that both Toa Liona and Kaun, who wrestled for ROH prior to the promotion’s much-publicized overhaul, have signed contracts with AEW that would allow them to make appearances for both ROH and AEW.
ROH and AEW have landed another name that could pay dividends in the future.
This week, Toa Liona said “It’s official, I’m signed with them,” to Koffin Radio when asked if he’s with AEW, noting he’s a part of the AEW roster. Beyond that, we’ve confirmed that his tag team partner Kaun has signed and is a part of the Ring of Honor roster as well. The men joined Tully Blanchard Enterprises at Supercard of Honor as the Gates of Agony, who were later joined by the newly returning Brian Cage.
Kaun was a part of Ring of Honor before the sale as a member of the popular Shane Taylor Promotions table, where he’d win the Six-Man Tag Team Titles with his Sons of Savagery partner Moses. Since then, Kaun worked AEW Dark tapings against Adam Cole, Andrade and Frankie Kazarian.
We’re told that even though he’s a part of the ROH roster, he’s technically signed to All Elite Wrestling as well, and the deal was put together at the beginning of February.
AEW has crossed over with ROH on multiple occasions. The latest instance of crossovers will take place this Wednesday when ROH World Television Champion Minoru Suzuki defends his title against Samoa Joe.
