Cody Rhodes is back in WWE and now he is moving past his WrestleMania return into the red brand’s storylines. This comes with a lot of options along the way.

Ringside News exclusively reported that Cody Rhodes’ promo on RAW last week was 100% scripted. We reported that everything down to his pause before saying “or did it?” was in the pages that he was supposed to memorize.

In the process of vetting our previous report, we were handed the script of Cody’s promo. Vince McMahon approved the script on the Friday beforehand, and he had options about which way to go.

The script we were handed had two choices for McMahon, a “Greedo or Han shot first” situation if you will. The two choices were “Seth Rollins extends his hand for a handshake,” and “Cody, without hesitation, Shakes Seth’s hand.” As you remember, Rhodes extended his hand without hesitation.

Vince McMahon marked out the first option, because Rollins wasn’t going to offer his hand first. Instead, Seth did do a lot of cackling as his on-screen character laughed at Cody.

Cody Rhodes’ RAW return segment was supposed to close out last week’s show, but they flipped things around. His first segment back on the longest running weekly episodic television show in history kicked off the broadcast after WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins’ feud is expected to continue in WWE. It will be a fitting way to re-introduce the American Nightmare into the current landscape. We will have to see how things pan out, because plans were nixed for him to appear on SmackDown last week as well.
