JBL is a veteran in the pro wrestling world, having started his journey during the Attitude Era in the late 90s. Bradshaw had a storied career, winning multiple championships along the way. He also has quite a few interesting stories to tell.

The WWE Hall of Famer is considered one of the most despicable heels in the history of WWE. His gimmick as a scumbag millionaire became a hit with fans, as they simply hated everything about him.

While speaking on the latest After The Bell podcast, JBL talked about the current age of pro wrestling. JBL stated that social media kills the characters of a lot of heel wrestlers.

“I have seen guys do some type of dastardly heel tactic or whatever it is. And then they put on their social media their kids and a bible scripture. Like, dude, there’s nothing wrong with your kids and a bible scripture, that’s wonderful. But not if you want to be a heel, you’ve got to stay in character. This social media kills a lot of these guys. Because they just expose the fact that what they’re doing is a work.”

The advent of social media has certainly reduced the allure of pro wrestling characters, especially heels. Despite this, there are those such as AEW star MJF who continue to portray their heel gimmicks without breaking character.
