AEW Dynamite Results for April 6, 2022

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means. AEW Dynamite will go down tonight and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage.

JR welcomes us to the show and the first man out tonight is Adam Cole! Christian Cage is out next for our first match of the night.

Christian Cage vs. Adam Cole

Duel chants from the fans, lock up, Cole powered to the corner. Christian gets a front face lock, into a headlock, Cole fights out but Christian hits a shoulder tackle. Cole with right hands, stomps in the corner, and a boot to the face. Christian goes for the Killswitch but Cale escapes.

Cole spits at Christian. Cole runs away but Christian catches him with a clothesline on the outside. Christian with chops against the barricade. Christian with chops in the corner, Cole fights out with a superkick. Cole with stomps in the corner then a big thrust kick. Christian goes to the outside but Cole chases him and throws Christian into the barricade. Cole then throws Christian knees first into the steel steps.

Christian throws Cole out of the ring, goes to the top rope then hits a big dive over the ring post! Back in the ring, both men trade right hands. Cole with an enziguri, climbs to the middle rope dives off but Christian gets the boots up. Christian with 10 shots in the corner, Christian with a sunset flip cover, 2 count. Christian with a pendulum kick, then a Tornado DDT, cover, 2 count.

Cole begs off, Christian goes for the Killswitch but Cole escapes and hits a Backstabber. Cole covers, 2 count. Christian gets a quick cover, 2 count, Christian with a Reverse DDT, goes to the top but misses a diving headbutt. Cole with superkicks then hits the Boom, cover, 1, 2, kick out! Cole didn’t lower the kneepad.

Both men trade right hands, Christian chokes Cole in the ropes, then hits a palm strike. Cole hits a Superkick off a Christian dive, Cole covers, 2 count. Christian with a hurricanrana from the top, cover, 2 count. Christian goes for the Spear but Cole hits a Superkick, escapes the Panama Sunrise, Cole hits a pumpkick, drops the kneepad but Christian ducks under The Boom. Christian hits a Spear, cover, 2 count.

Christian goes for the Killswitch but Cole gets his foot on the ropes, Cole hides in the ropes then pokes Christian in the eye. Cole hits the Boom and gets the 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Adam Cole!

reDRagon run down and attack Christian. Jungle Boy runs down to make the save, Jurassic Express chase off reDRagon.

Hangman Page’s music hits while Adam Cole is alone in the ring. Cole says he will not get in the ring with Page until the title is on the line. Page slaps Cole in the face and says he will give him his title shot as a punishment. Next week, there is a live Rampage in Texas, the match Cole wants will not be a normal match but it will be a Texas Death Match! the crowd chants “Cowboy Shit” and Page says Cole should get his affairs in order.

Samoa Joe makes his entrance. The Acclaimed’s music hits and Max Caster raps his way to the ring.

The Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Qualifier: Samoa Joe vs. Max Caster

“Joe’s Gonna Kill You” chants… Joe with a headbutt, right hands, stomps in the corner, Joe mocks Caster with a dance. Joe with chops, elbow in the corner, enziguri in the corner. Joe with a knee, snapmare, chop to the back, kick to the face and and elbow drop. Joe hits an Elbow Suicida to Caster on the outside.

Bowens distracts Joe and Caster takes the advantage. Caster with strikes in the ring to little affect. Joe with a back elbow, then hits Caster with the Muscle Buster! Joes covers, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Samoa Joe!

Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt appear on the screen and say they respect Joe and Joe should respect them. Lethal says his outlook now is to do and say whatever he wants. For 4 months he tried to call his mentor but Joe never answered. Joe only answers his phone for billionaire. Lethal calls Joe a Samoan gold digger. Next week, they will get Joe a present he will never forget.

Ton Schiavone is with the Blackpool Combat Club. Regal says he is off his nut with excitement, he feels sorry for Trent having to wrestle Danielson. Yuta wont know if its daylight or moon night when he steps in the ring with Moxley.

Shawn Spears makes his entrance. MJF makes his entrance, and he joins commentary. Captain Shawn Dean is already in the ring.

Spears hits a backbreaker, stomps to Dean and throws him out of the ring. Spears points at a Wardlow sign on the barricade and laughs. Spears with chops in the corner, Dean escapes and hits chops of his own. Spears hits a pumphandle neckbreaker, covers, then pulls Deans shoulders up before 3. “Wardlow” chants… Cameras backstage show security beaten up backstage. Wardlow is shown entering the arena and beating up more security guards. Wardlow enters the ringside area through the crowd!

Wardlow fights off more security, then powers the final one into the barricade. 3 security guards hold back Wardlow as Dean gets a quick rollup on Spears, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Captain Shawn Dean!

Tony Schiavone is with the Best Friends. Taylor tells Yuta that there is no reason he cant be the best wrestler with them. Trent says watch his match, he should learn something from the guys he’s turning his back on.

Sammy Guevara makes his entrance along with Tay Conti holding flashcards.

Earlier tonight, Kingston, Santana and Ortiz are shown beating up the Jericho Appreciation Society. Kingston throws a TV at them, then JAS escape the arena, get in a car and drive away.

Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz enter the arena. Kingston says he isn’t waiting for music. Jericho is a two faced coward, did you see him running? Kingston says he will attack the JAS on sight, he will get them even if they are with their kids. He knows where Garcia lives, keep running. Santana says this is what they do, Ortiz says when Jericho decides to grow a pair, they will have a 6 man next week. Kingston says they will beat their ass Junkyard Dog and Butch Reed style.

Tony Schiavone is on the stage, he introduced Jade Carghill. with Mark Sterling. Carghill tells tony to cut the shit. She is here to formally introduce her baddy section. A baddy is a beautiful women with confidence who knows herself. She knows herself. Sterling says it was difficult to find good looking people in this city. the one person not allowed in the baddy section is Marina Shafir. Carghill says she is tired of MMA losers in this business. Carghill says she is the problem solver.

Marvez is with MJF and Spears. MJF says he preys Wardlow shows his face next week. Next week he will face Shawn Dean and he will injure Dean worse than any injury he had in the military.

Butcher and Blade make their entrance. Bucher and Blade start setting up tables in the ring. The Hardys are out next.

Tables Match: The Hardys vs. Butcher & Blade

Both teams brawl on the outside. Blade sets up at table in the corner, lariat to Jeff Hardy. Blade crashes through the table as Jeff dodges. Butcher fights off Matt Hardy and attacks Jeff. Butcher sets up a table goes for a German but Jeff blocks. Matt attacks Butcher from behind, double DDT by the Hardys. The Hardy set up Butcher on the table, Jeff goes to the top, but Blade knocks him down.

Blade with a neckbreaker to Matt. Butcher and Blade hit a Suplex/Crossbody to Jeff on the table, but it collapses and doesn’t break.

Matt hits Butcher with chair shots to the back, Jeff Hardy was apparently eliminated from the Suplex/Crossbody. Matt Hardy fights alone. Matt hits a Legdrop to Butcher though the table. Butcher is eliminated. Matt crashes through a table as Blade moves out of the way. Blade throws Matt into the barricade. Butcher and Blade set up a table at ringside, Butcher with a right hand. Butcher throws Matt into the crowd.

Butcher and Blade hits a Superplex off the barricade but the table was moved out of the way by Jeff Hardy. Jeff with a running lariat, kick to Butcher and an atomic drop, Jeff with a legdrop, Twist of Fate to Blade. Matt hits a Twist of Fate on the outside. Jeff pulls out a ladder and hits Butcher with it. Matt hits a Twist of Fate. Matt sets up 2 tables as Jeff sets up the ladder.

They set up Blade on the table and Jeff climbs the ladder. Jeff hits a Swanton off the ladder through the tables!

WINNER: The Hardys

(Not sure the rules of that match made sense. Jeff was eliminated, wasn’t he?)

Andrade makes his entrance along with Private Party, Bunny and Jose. As the AFO walk down the ramp, Sting’s music hits!

Sting fights off the AFO with his baseball bat. Andrade backs away then puts Bunny in front of him. The AFO back off.

Christian Cage and Jurassic Express are backstage. Christian is pissed off and throws his water bottle down and leaves. Jungle Boy says reDRagon have been champions all over the world, but their record in AEW aren’t good enough to challenge for their titles. But they will challenge reDRagon to a match and put the AEW Tag Titles on the line.

Tony Schiavone is with Toni Storm and Jaime Hayter. Storm offers a handshake but Hayter slaps it away. Hayter says if anybody deserves to win this tournament, its her. Storm says this has only just begun.

Julia Hart makes her entrance, accompanied by the Varsity Blonds. Hikaru Shida is out next.

The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Qualifier: Hikaru Shida vs. Julia Hart

Hart kicks Shida in the back before then bell then chokes Shida with her jacket. Hart sends the Varsity Blonds to the back. Hart with a clothesline in the corner, Shida blocks a handspring and hits a knee strike. Shida with another running knee strike.

Shida gets a chair and sets it up, Shida hits a running dropkick off the chair. Back in the ring, Hart with a kick to Shida, DDT, then mounted shot to Shida.

Shida with clubbing blows to the back of the head. Running knee from Shida into a suplex. Hart ducks under a running knee strike, Shida hits a Superplex, cover, 2 count. Hart gauges Shida’s eyes, Hart with a bulldog, cover, 2 count. Hart goes to the top but misses a splash, Shida with a diving elbow strike then hits a roundhouse knee strike, into a Falcon Arrow, cover, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Hikaru Shida!

Serena Deeb’s music hits and Deeb comes from behind hold a steel chair but Chida sees it coming. Both women face off with weapons in hand. Deeb backs away and leaves up the ramp.

Marvez is with Swerve Strickland. Swerve talks about going to the Grammys. Is not over with Starks, but right now he has things to do. He leaves through a door but Starks and Hobbs run in and attack him. Keith Lee runs in to make the save and all 4 men brawl in the locker room. Keith Lee shoulder tackles Hobbs through a wall!

The Young Bucks makes their entrance, accompanied by Brandon Cutler. The ROH & AAA Tag Team Champions, FTR, makes their entrance next. Bobby Cruise does the official ring introductions. The Bucks throw their coats at FTR.

ROH & AAA Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs. Young Bucks

Huge “FTR” chants. Cash throws his coat at the Bucks. Cash and Matt start, lock up, Matt powered to the corner, Matt escapes and mocks Cash, Cash pushes him down. Cash traps the leg and gets a headlock, snapmare, leg scissor. Matt gets a headlock, Cash with a shoulder tackle. Cash mocks the Young Bucks pose.

Cash with a drop toe hold, tags in Dax. Nick tags in, lock up, Dax gets a headlock takeover, break in the corner, Nick throws his headband at Dax, Dax puts in in his trunks. Dax gets a headlock, shoulder tackle, scoop slam. Dax gets an armbar, Nick tags in Matt. Dax runs then all 4 men enter the ring for a faceoff. Matt knocks Cash off the apron, Dax with a big right ahnd, Nick trips him up, Cash trips Matt, all 4 men brawl in the ring!

The Bucks with a hip toss, backflip, dropkick, same thing to Cash. Cash hits a double clothesline. Cash gets a Sharpshooter, Dax does the same! Nick rakes the eyes, escaping the hold. The bucks with a double enziguri, cannonball senton. Matt with right hands, shot tot he midsection, Russian Leg Sweep. Matt with a diving elbow drop, and mocks Bret Hart. Nick chokes Cash in the ropes.

Cash with a suplex, Nick tags out. Cash with a baseball slide. Cash fights off the Matt, goes for a tag but Nick hits a Superkick to Dax! Miscommunication from the the Bucks. Dax tags in and runs wild. Dax with chops in the corner, inside cradle, 2 count. Matt with a sunset flip, covers back and forth, double backslide, 2 count.

Dax hits a Piledriver, cover, 2 count. “This is Awesome” chants, the Bucks throws Dax off the top rope, Cash hits a backdrop on the apron. Dax sweeps the legs on the turnbuckle. Dax with a Superplex, Nick hits a hurricanrana from the top.

Nick with knees in the corner, running bulldog, kick to Dax, facebuster to Cash. Dax hits a Brainbuster on the floor. Cash with the Gory Special, cover, 2 count. Bucks dodge the Big Rig, low blow to Cash! The Bucks hit the Big Rig, cover, 2 count. The Bucks hit More Bang For Your Buck, cover, 2 count.

Nick gets the ROH title, Dax pulls it away, Matt hits cash with he belt, cover, Dax breaks the count! The Bucks hits double superkicks to Dax. Bucks hits the BTE Trigger, cover, 2 count as Cash gets his foot on the ropes! “FTR” chants, Dax catches a Nick dive and hits the Powerbomb, Cash hits the Tombstone Piledriver. FTR hits the BTE Trigger, they kiss Matt, then hit the Big Rig, cover, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: “And Still” ROH & AAA Tag Team Champions, FTR!

FTR hold both titles high to a huge reaction as Dynamite goes off the air!
