WWE Passed On Several WrestleMania Pitches For Bayley

Bayley is without a doubt one of WWE’s most well-known female Superstars. Her last reign as Smackdown Women’s Champion lasted 380 days, making her the women’s champion with the most days in contemporary WWE history. Sadly, Bayley missed WrestleMania this year due to an injury and last year due to booking. It seems WWE pitched in a lot of ideas for Bayley at WrestleMania last year as well.

According toFightful, WWE had hoped to include Becky Lynch in the show last year, but it never happened. Becky Lynch discussed returning to the show, primarily to work with Bayley. Bayley was approached by WWE with a slew of suggestions to have her more involved in WrestleMania.

There was a hope that WWE could get Becky Lynch involved in WrestleMania 37, but it never ended up happening. Becky Lynch confirmed to Fightful that there were conversations about her making a return at the show, specifically to do something with Bayley. Lynch said Bayley deserved a big moment, and she was hoping to make that happen, but it never came to fruition. Lynch joked that WWE thought they needed something bigger for Becky than Bayley. We followed up with people who were working with creative at the time, who confirmed to Fightful there were an “exhaustive number of pitches to get Bayley more involved in WrestleMania.” We’re told that her value to the show was never in doubt, but everything that seemed to get pitched just kept getting shot down. There was a heavy push from a couple of members of creative for Bayley to host the show, either by herself or alongside Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil. There were also several pitches to do a special edition of Ding Dong, Hello! that were passed on.

Bayley’s contribution to the company is undeniable, but anything that appeared to be pitched kept getting shot down. Several members of the creative team pushed hard for Bayley to host the show, either alone or with Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil. Bayley’s return has been the subject of numerous rumors, none of which have proven to be genuine.

Fans have been wondering when Bayley will return to the squared circle. Bayley is yet to be cleared for a return to the ring, as previously reported. It was expected that she will return after WrestleMania 38, but we’ll have to wait and see whether that happens.
