Pat McAfee has become one of the best things about Friday Night Smackdown. This is largely due to him excelling in his role as part of the WWE commentary team. McAfee also didn’t know Steve Austin was going to appear during a major WrestleMania 38 moment.
McAfee faced off against Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38 Night 2. McAfee had a solid performance against Theory and even ended up winning the match, much to the surprise of fans.
Steve Austin then appeared after the conclusion of Vince McMahon’s impromptu match with McAfee. Austin gave stunners to McMahon, Theory and even Pat McAfee.
While speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee revealed that he had absolutely no idea that ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin was going to appear after his match.
“I was sitting there just befuddled by everything that was going on in my life right there. You know, I’m not good enough in that business for everything that — there was a lot of trust that was placed upon me, I think, that [in] hindsight should not have been. Cause I’m in there like, ‘God damn, I should have been given a heads up.’ How many times have I done this? Three times? I’ve done this three times… they were really confident in me figuring some stuff out, I guess.”
We’ll have to see whether Steve Austin will make another appearance on WWE television eventually, as he certainly made WrestleMania 38 memorable.
