Kevin Owens impressed a lot of fans with his performance in an impromptu no disqualification match with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. The entertaining segment wasn’t a technical masterpiece, but it sent the fans home happy. Owens carried nearly the entire feud by himself, as Austin never appeared live at Raw during the build to Mania.
Booker T counts himself among those who were very impressed with Owens’ performance. The WWE Hall of Famer thinks KO is worthy of a major award. He’s not talking about a Slammy, either.
On the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker praised Kevin Owens for his performance. While Booker T thought Steve Austin also performed admirably, the former world champion declared that Kevin Owens should win an Oscar.
“Kevin Owens man, he deserves an Oscar for the work that he put in on that night. Seriously.
Kevin Owens, and I’ve said it for a long time now that he is one of the best guys on the roster. He is what professional wrestling is. He is what a professional wrestler does.
When I watched the beginning of that thing, and I don’t want to give any of our tricks away or anything like that, but when I watched the beginning of that match, I just watched the magic of Kevin Owens. Stone Cold Steve Austin definitely played his part. He played his part very, very well. But for me, if I was coming back to do a match, it definitely would be a guy like Kevin Owens or a guy like Seth Rollins.”
Oscars are given out for performances in movies, but Booker’s point remains. The former five-time world champion thinks KO was magnificent. The praise continues to roll in for Kevin Owens’ WrestleMania moment.
