The Undertaker will forever be remembered as one of the greatest pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He gave more than three decades of his life to the business. AJ Styles also tried to convince The Undertaker to come out of retirement.

AJ Styles faced off against The Undertaker in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36. The match was a cinematic masterpiece for many and it saw The Deadman defeat Styles.

The match was a resounding success and received a lot of critical praise from fans and Superstars alike. However, it ultimately became The Undertaker’s final match in the company.

While speaking with Wrestling Inc, AJ Styles revealed that he tried to convince The Undertaker to come out of retirement and have one more match. Ultimately, The Undertaker decided it was the right time for him to hang up his boots.

“I think we all knew that once the Boneyard match got the reaction that it did, that might be it. I called, and he didn’t return my calls. Because he knew, ‘hey, he’s going to convince me to have another match.’”

The Undertaker also recently said ‘never say never’ when it came to an in-ring return, but it is highly unlikely he will ever make his return to the squared circle.
