“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is one of the greatest superstars to ever step foot inside a wrestling ring. Austin turned the tides of business and was instrumental in WWE’s win over WCW in the ratings war of the nineties. He made a one-off return at WrestleMania 38, but that was not in the plan.

Austin returned for one last can of whoop ass at this year’s WrestleMania. The Texas Rattlesnake accepted Kevin Owens’s invitation to partake in a no holds barred match on the Showcase of the Immortals.
Austin defeated Owens after nailing his finisher, the stunner. The WWE Hall of Famer then invited his brother for a toast inside the ring. Austin also delivered a stunner to WWE commentator Byron Saxton to end the first night of WrestleMania 38.
Backstage, Austin was interviewed about his match against Owens. The Texan praised Owens for being an outstanding performer who “ran his mouth a little too much.” He also said he didn’t expect to main event Mania in this day and age.
“I give a shout out to the WWE superstars that worked before me and the ones who are gonna work tomorrow night, but I give the biggest shout out to the crowd because I never expected to be able to headline a WrestleMania at this day and time. So, it’s all about the WWE Universe.”
WrestleMania 38 continues Sunday (April 3) at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Night Two will be headlined by WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. You can check out the card for night two, right here.
