Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return to the WWE in six years at WrestleMania 38. The American Nightmare took on Seth “Freakin” Rollins in a fun match that saw couple of false finishes on the grandest show of the year.

Fans in attendance and at home couldn’t contain their excitement and took to Twitter to show their reactions. Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes said she was proud of her husband.

Cody Rhodes versus Seth Rollins had been in the works for weeks. Ringside News exclusively got a scoop on the rumors that Cody won’t show up at Mania from a tenured member of WWE’s creative team. The person said it was “fake news.”

Cody signed with WWE last month. The new deal presumably allows him to complete any existing deals including appearing on The Go Big Show he had prior to signing with the company.

Cody and wife Brandi Rhodes parted ways with All Elite Wrestling in February. AEW President and CEO announced their departure on social media. Cody had been an on-screen talent and executive vice president of AEW.
