Taya Valkyrie Returns To Impact Wrestling & Gets Title Match

Taya Valkyrie was with Impact for more than three years before leaving in January 2021. In February of last year, she signed with WWE NXT and debuted as Franky Monet. She was freed in November of last year. Valkyrie has the record for the longest Knockouts World Title reign in Impact history, with her first and only reign lasting 377 days, from January 6, 2019 to January 18, 2020.

Taya Valkyrie has officially made her return to Impact Wrestling. Deonna Purrazzo, the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion and ROH Women’s World Champion, retained her AAA championship over Faby Apache in another Champ Champ Challenge at WrestleCon on Friday.

Valkyrie returned and interrupted Purrazzo’s promo on new ROH Interim Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez, who won the interim championship by defeating Willow Nightingale at ROH Supercard of Honor XV. The bout for the AAA Reina de Reinas Title was confirmed for the next Impact Rebellion pay-per-view after Valkyrie and Purrazzo exchanged words.

Purrazzo vs. Martinez for the Undisputed ROH Women’s World Title has yet to be announced, but we will keep you updated. On Saturday, April 23, the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY will host the 2022 Impact Rebellion pay-per-view.
