Sami Zayn will have the honor of being one of the WWE superstars involved in a celebrity match at WrestleMania 38. Austin Theory is set to face former NFL punter and media personality Pat McAfee as well. Many fans are not too interested in celebrity matches, but they certainly have their place.

Sami recently re-signed with WWE. Many expected a huge title push of some sort. Instead, Zayn has been placed into the unlikely feud with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville.

Sami recently spoke to Sportsnet about his involvement in the match. Zayn doesn’t think the goal should always be the main event. Sami is happy with his spot on the card.

“It’s been a pretty unique experience because I don’t know, in all honesty, that this was always the plan. Our characters played off each other very well. He makes a fool of people and my character you want to see get made a fool of so there’s a natural connection there.

I think the chemistry was good, and the reactions were good enough to get us to this point which is to face off at WrestleMania.I really enjoy it. I see the occasional comment (that) I should be doing something more, something better than wrestling Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania.

I’m kind of thinking to myself, ‘What do you want exactly? What’s better?’ Unless you’re main eventing for the world title. Not everything is, ‘you’re main evening for the world title or you’re being misused.’”

Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville have been involved in an epic war to see which man can out-troll the other. It will all come to a head when they face off at WrestleMania in an anything-goes match. Sami is perfectly content to be working with a major celebrity on the grandest stage of them all.
