Paul Wight is widely considered to be one of the greatest big men to ever step foot inside the squared circle. The former Big Show is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling under his real name. Paul Wight also recently said that he wants to wrestle in his hometown on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. It seems he made his return.
AEW “Dark: Elevation” episode of Monday was recorded tonight at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC before AEW Dynamite premiered on TBS. Hometown superstar Paul Wight made his return to the ring in the main event against Austin Green during the tapings.
Wight was just in his fourth AEW match. The former Big Show made his AEW in-ring debut with a win over QT Marshall at All Out last September, and then won two 3-on-1 Handicap Matches on Elevation that autumn after joining with the promotion in February 2021.
In September, he dominated CPA, RSP, and VSK, and in October, he defeated Cole Karter, Carlie Bravo, and Arjun Singh. Since then, Wight hasn’t wrestled, but he asked AEW President Tony Khan if he could work tonight’s show because it’s in his hometown.
We will have to wait and see whether Wight will end up winning his match against Austin Green or not. Elevation airs every Monday night at 7pm ET via the official AEW YouTube channel.
