Ronda Rousey shocked the world after debuting during 2018’s Royal Rumble event. She quickly cemented herself as a top star and became a champion as well. Rousey also confirmed she will headline WrestleMania 38 Night 1.

Rousey then made her return during the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year, where she eliminated Charlotte Flair for the win. Rousey ended up choosing Flair as her WrestleMania 38 opponent as well.

It was rumored that the Steve Austin and Kevin Owens segment is set to main event WrestleMania 38 Night 1 as well. This booking decision led to a lot of criticism as well as many felt more deserving stars should have been closing out the show.

For a long time, the main event for WrestleMania 38 Night 1 was up in the air as well. While speaking on Ellen with Ellen DeGeneres, Ronda Rousey talked about her match against Charlotte Flair. Rousey confirmed that their match will main event WrestleMania 38 Night 1.

“I’m going to be in the main event for the second time. I was part of the first main event with women, this is the third. It’s becoming almost something that doesn’t even need to be mentioned anymore, which is the goal.”

We will have to wait and see whether Ronda Rousey will be able to defeat Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 Night 1.
