Tony Schiavone has been one of wrestling’s most beloved voices for decades. Schiavone has experience in WCW, WWE, AEW, and even smaller promotions like MLW. It turns out Tony is also popular among a group of executives from the world of legitimate sports.
The NFL held their annual owner’s meetings last night. Tony Schiavone was there hanging out at the hotel bar. Tony Khan’s family are the owners of the Jacksonville Jaguars, so he was likely there as a guest.
Football podcaster Kevin Clark noted that Schiavone was very popular at the NFL meetings. Several general managers spent an evening going crazy over the legendary wrestling commentator. It sounds like it was a sight to behold.
“Tony Schiavone was at the hotel bar at the NFL owners meetings last night. An NFL GM was yelling “TONY SCHIAVONE! THE GREATEST!” over and over, doing impressions and asked to be put in a headlock. NFL GMs: they are just like us.”
Clark commented in the replies that Tony Schiavone was very kind to everybody. That is no surprise. Tony is considered one of the most well-liked personalities in wrestling.
For many wrestling fans who grew up to become NFL general managers, meeting Tony Schiavone was an unexpected perk. Tony is living his best life since getting back into the national wrestling scene when he joined AEW. It seems that wrestling fandom truly does transcend all occupations.
