Kevin Owens is certainly one of the top Superstars in WWE and worked hard to become one of the best stars in the company. He honed his craft in the independent circuit prior to debuting in WWE. Owens also commented on getting permission from Steve Austin to The Stunner.

For the past few weeks, Kevin Owens has been taking numerous shots at Texas, which is ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s home state. It has come to such a point that even other Texas residents have reacted to what Owens has been saying.

While speaking to Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark, Kevin Owens talked about playing the long game when it came to him getting Steve Austin’s permission to use the Stunner.

“It’s unreal to find myself in this position. What’s funny is, when I first asked him if I could use the Stunner as the finishing move and he gave me his blessing, it meant a lot to me personally and professionally coming from him because I looked up to him for the longest time. I did figure that, if at some point he were to come back, the logic would be that he would be involved with the guy doing the Stunner. I played the long game a little bit and it worked out in my favor.”

Steve Austin is also said to be in incredible shape ahead of his segment with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38. We’ll have to see how the segment will be received by fans in the end.
