Kofi Kingston is a proper veteran in the pro wrestling world, having competed in WWE for 14 years now. He has competed in several memorable matches and won various championships. There is also uncertainty over his WrestleMania 38 status by the looks of it.
Apart from his singles run, which saw him win the WWE Championship, among other titles, he is still a member of The New Day. The group remains one of the most popular tag teams in the history of pro wrestling.
Xavier Woods made his return to Friday Night Smackdown last week following an injury. Woods returned and Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and his lackeys. He also beat Ridge Holland in a few seconds.
According to Fightful, a WrestleMania 38 match featuring The New Day vs Sheamus and his lackeys was in the works initially. However, there is a chance that the match might even get scrapped now.
”Originally, a reunited New Day was set for a match at WrestleMania that would see the three compete together at the event for the first time in six years. However, a major injury that resulted in Big E breaking his neck has significantly changed things.
Originally, the trio were scheduled to face Ridge Holland, Sheamus and Pete Dunne [now known as BUTCH] in some sort of six man tag team match on the show. As of Friday, we’re told that the match was still planned with Kofi Kingston & King Xavier Woods set to face off with Sheamus and Butch. However, it was reiterated to us that that match could be changed to include Ridge Holland, or scrapped altogether.”
It remains to be seen whether Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will end up having a match at the Grandest Stage Of Them All or not.
