Cody Rhodes’s influence in AEW cannot be understated, as he helped out numerous young stars during his time there. This includes numerous stars such as MJF, Darby Allin and more. Wardlow also commented on his experience with Cody Rhodes in AEW.
Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi would leave AEW last month. Before that, Cody Rhodes squared off against Wardlow in a steel cage match during Rhodes’ feud with MJF. To this day, the match is regarded as one of Rhodes’ best as well.
While speaking on NBC Sports Boston’s Ten Count, Wardlow talked about his reaction to Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ exit from AEW. Wardlow stated that he never had any negative experience with Cody Rhodes.
“I was very surprised [by Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ AEW exit]. I was very taken back by it and I’m still slightly taken back by it. I don’t really know any of the details on anything, what really led to it. The only thing I can say about the situation is I’ve known Cody for three years and I’ve never once had a negative experience with him. Cody is a big reason I’m sitting here talking to you today and I have nothing but love and respect for Cody and if his decision to leave AEW was the best decision for him and his family, I 100 percent support it.”
Cody Rhodes also isn’t likely to appear on WWE television before WrestleMania 38, where he’ll square off against Seth Rollins. It remains to be seen how The American Nightmare will do in WWE this time around.
